"What I like about Sam Glankoff’s work is the variety in his palette. I was drawn to the color. These works can add all the dynamic visual interest one would need in an interior..

These are works that have their own point of view and personality. And with someone with a more sophisticated design sense - or a decorator - one could layer in these works, making an interior that much more exciting.

I like that the larger scaled compositions are very powerful, they have presence, yet can be quiet. They're not severe even though they are very bold.  I like that you can see that they were made by an artist. That they are tactile. The brush strokes and the layering of colors transform shapes from being graphic to more human. The works feel both sensual and crafted.

The thing that is so nice about Glankoff’s use of pink, is that it is unexpectedly sophisticated. It is hard to come across this use of pink in such a masculine, or gender neutral way.

We often work with couples, and with bachelors who are about to marry. Here is contemporary art that looks exciting, but at the same time can be soft and pretty. For a designer, Glankoff’s use of pink can toughen up softer furnishings or soften some severe furnishings.

It’s a kind of confidence.  If you walked into someone’s living room and they had Glankoff’s pink circles above their sofa, it would be unexpected.  And it’s chic to be unexpected.

I cannot speak for the artist, but I do respond to how an image “feels”.  And I do believe that art is created by an artist’s spirit and subconscious, their emotions and thoughts, and you are taking that home with you. So it is important that it really feel good to you.

These works are harmonious. There is definitely a vibration to Glankoff’s work that is very pleasing and soothing, they have their moments, but then they blend…they’re not aggressive.  The compositions I have chosen, I feel as if they’re breathing or floating in space. The overall personality of these pieces...they seem like they’d be good friends. They’re interesting, they have a point of view, they are images one would never tire of.

What is interesting to me, is that these works were a spiritual process for Sam Glankoff. He was not interested in fame nor recognition. These works were his spiritual journey."
