"In looking at the Glankoff's, it's hard to say why one would "pop" out,  why one would be more preferable than another. It's clearly difficult.

It wasn't the color that I sought out, it was more the shapes and the graphic quality. I was looking at his purity and simplicity of expression, and chose images based on that.

I don't know, in my mind, if I succeeded in doing that, but the one's that I selected, and the one's that I preferred for this selection; it had more to do with the bold graphic quality.

I think there is a consistent color attitude in all of Glankoff's works that is very even.  You can tell these are Glankoff's, as you can tell
a Joseph Albers or any Color Field artist.  He has a great color sense.  Although the work is not exclusively about that, it is his color sense, that I am attracted to.

I particularly like the ones that bridge that line between figurative and abstraction.

Yet the reclining nude is not abstracted, per se, it is a pared down shape that remains an evocative human figure.  That is a great one.

Even though the works are boldly graphic, they are still a fine art object. Blurring those lines, was what a lot of modern art was all about…Warhol being the best example of that idea...blending those two worlds."
